JobScanner is not open to the public yet and takes no payments. These terms are accurate about what the software does today and have not been reviewed by a lawyer. Before this service is offered to anyone commercially they need legal review, refund and availability wording, and a published legal notice (Impressum). If you are reading this as an early user: you are using unfinished software run by one person.
What this service does
JobScanner collects job postings from employers' own applicant-tracking systems and from public job feeds, judges them against the CV and preferences you give it, and prepares tailored applications for you to review. It does not apply for you. Every application is sent by you, from your own browser, after you have read it. Nothing is submitted to an employer without a human pressing a button.
What it is not
It is not immigration advice. The service shows whether an employer appears on a public register of visa sponsors and what a published salary threshold is. That is information taken from public sources, not advice about your case, and nobody here is qualified or authorised to give you advice about your case. For that, speak to a regulated immigration adviser or a lawyer.
The register information can be wrong. Registers are published as spreadsheets, employer names in postings do not match register names reliably, and a company that gained a licence last week may still read as absent here. On a measurement of this system's own corpus, roughly one in ten fresh UK employers was matched incorrectly. Treat a "not a sponsor" flag as a reason to check, never as a reason not to apply.
It is not legal, tax or financial advice, and it does not promise you a job. No system that reads job postings can.
Your account
You need an email address you control and a password. Keep the password to yourself; anyone who has it can read your CV and your application history. Upload only your own CV — a CV is somebody's personal data, and uploading another person's makes you responsible for having had the right to.
One account per person. Do not use the service to collect postings in bulk for another product, and do not try to reach other people's accounts or the parts of the interface reserved for the operator.
What you can expect from us
This is run by one person on one server. It will be unavailable sometimes, and there is no support rota and no response-time promise. Job boards change without notice and a source that stops working may stay broken until somebody notices. Backups are taken, and a restore is a manual operation.
There is no charge today. If a paid tier is introduced, existing accounts will be told before anything is billed, and these terms will change — which means a new version and a new acceptance.
Employers' content
Job postings belong to whoever wrote them. The service shows enough to decide whether a posting is worth your time and links to the employer's own page; it is not a copy of the board and it is not a substitute for one.
Ending it
You can delete your account at any time from your account page. Deletion removes your profile, your CV and its extracted contents, your preferences, your judgements and your application history. It is not reversible after the grace period stated on that page.
An account may be closed from this side for the things under Your account — bulk collection, trying to reach other people's data, or uploading CVs that are not yours. You will be told, at the address on the account.
Liability
The service is provided as it is. It can be wrong about a posting, a salary, a location or a visa route, and you are the one deciding what to do with what it says. Nothing here limits liability where the law does not allow it to be limited — including for death, personal injury, or intent and gross negligence.
Changes and law
A change to these terms is a new version. You will be asked to accept it the next time you sign in, and the version you accepted is recorded against your account with the date.
The service is operated from Germany and German law applies.
